Immerse yourself in full luxury at this beautifully renovated 1 bedroom / 2 bath uniton the shores of Sapphire Beach. Relax and enjoy the Island Life in the spacious living area of Casa Azul. With a Chef's kitchen, enjoy a home cooked meal on the dining table in the enclosed patio area, looking out over the grounds of Crystal Cove, or on the beautiful granite island in the kitchen. If dining 'al fresco' is more your style, the open air backyard space is where you want to be. Take a short stroll to the white sand beach and enjoy the surf and sun. Lounge on the complimentary beach chairs while you sip on frozen cocktails from the beach bar. If you are a bit more adventurous, the snorkeling just off the beach is amazing as well. Swim with turtles, rays, abundance of reef fish, and even dolphins if you are lucky! On windy days you can also watch windsurfers and kite boarders race across the azure blue waters right in front of you. Head back to the villa for a quick bite or to cool off in the centrally air conditioned space. The modern kitchen is spacious with a gas range and dishwasher, and can accommodate dinner parties or a quiet meal for two just as easily. The bedroom with en-suite bath boasts contemporary furnishings with Caribbean flair and a spa style bathroom with a jetted tub. Enjoy watching movies via Amazon Prime & Netflix, the Xbox, or playing games on those rare rainy days in the comfy living area. The space can accommodate up to 5 guests comfortably with the additional two Crate n Barrel Queen sleepers. A second full bathroom and hallway of closets makes storage and getting ready simple for all guests. The Property The property is a gated community with 24-hr security. Guests can enjoy the secluded beach just yards away from the front door with complimentary beach chairs and sun loungers available on the sand. There is also a pool available for those that would rather opt for a pool setting. There is a shuffle board set on the beach and tennis courts for those looking to enjoy a game or two. There is a coin operated laundromat on the property to make quick work of laundry, or Norma is on site daily and she we would be happy to help with a load if requested. A short walk down the beach there are ocean kayaks and SUP boards for rent. There is also a beach volleyball court in case you are in the mood for some real action. Guest Interaction We will do everything we can to make your trip a memorable one. If you have any questions or would like us to arrange activities while you are visiting please let us know before your arrival and we can make those arrangements. We even have negotiated discounts for our guests with certain restaurants and tour operators, so if you want to take a sunset sail, or a day trip to the BVIs on a power boat, we can help! The property manager Lisa will greet you at the villa at time of your arrival to answer any questions and show you around the villa. She will also be your personal concierge during your stay, available to assist with questions, fix any issues, or to give tips on local's beaches and restaurant recommendations. The Neighborhood Crystal Cove is located on the east end of St Thomas, near the small "town" of Red Hook, just a mile from the gates where you can enjoy numerous award winning restaurants and bars. If you are feeling adventurous, the passenger and car ferries to St John are located in Redhook as well and deliver you to the white sand beaches of the quaintest virgin isle, St John. Redhook also offers great shopping, day charter boat tours to the BVIs, fishing excursions for big game fish, and diving tours for those seeking some more fun and sun while visiting. There are also 4 amazing beaches nearby. The property sits on Sapphire Beach, but famous Lyndquist Beach is only .5 miles west, and there is Secret Harbor and Great Bay just on the other side of Redhook about 5 minutes away. Getting Around Upon arrival at the airport guests can take a taxi to the villa or rent a car. A car rental is highly recommended and will be more cost effective over the course of your stay. We have negotiated a 10% discount for our guests with Budget of St Thomas. Depending on your comfort level with driving on the LEFT HAND side, you can choose to rent a car and explore St Thomas on your own. Having your own vehicle will provide more freedom and driving on the LEFT HAND side of the road is only weird for the first few minutes 😉 For those not looking for the excitement of driving on roads over dormant volcanic hills, we can suggest taking a taxi to the property, or we can have a taxi familiar with the property pick you up. Once on the property, you can take the islands preferred method of transport as well, the SAFARI bus. Modified pickup trucks with covered seating in the pickup bed run the entire length of the island for only $2. They stop just outside of the gate on the main road and can quickly take you to Redhook for $1. The loop is clockwise on the island and they stop running around 7:30pm, so you would have to take a taxi back from Redhook to the villa.
